Hope by Scrappie Irene
You are cordially invited to participate in this special free on-line event called Hopes, Dreams, Goals and Schemes. As a special gift to all our customers at CatScrap, eight of our designers have carefully prepared a special treat for you! Fiddlette Designs, Creashens, Nancie Rowe Janitz, K Studio, Cheekymonkey Designs, Ju Kneipp, Something Blue Studios, and Paula Kesselring are so very pleased to be able to present you with 8 weeks of freebies, inspiration, a place to chat with like minded artists, as well as an exclusive gallery to post your art work for this challenge, which is an art journaling challenge. Whether you are a seasoned art journaler, or a paper, hybrid or digi scrapper who is interested in trying out and dabbling in this truly liberating artistic venture, we know you will enjoy this wonderful offering we have organized for you.
What is an art journal? Simply put, it is a notebook kept by an individual as a personal record of images and sometimes words…a special place for recording and decoding a person’s interior world. A place to illustrate one’s hopes, dreams, goals and schemes. There are no rules as to what can go in and it can be meant for your eyes only, or something you can share with the world…it is entirely up to you!
Our theme is something that is near and dear to all of our hearts, something so integrally human that there cannot be a single person on the planet that cannot relate. Our hopes, our dreams, our goals, and our schemes, or rather, the plans we make to achieve these goals…Let yourself indulge in an exercise that will make these thoughts tangible in an artistic and illustrative way. Do not worry if you have never tried this before…since there are no rules, there are no penalties…you cannot make a mistake!
The first 2 weeks will be devoted to our hopes….as you will be receiving a freebie package at the start of each week, it is up to you whether you decide to create two individual stand alone pages on the theme word, or two pages intended to face each other in your Hopes Dreams Goals & Schemes journal we will be creating. Please use the elements that you will receive in the download from each designer, as well as whatever else you would like to add to complete your art piece.
It is as simple as that…you can post in the gallery intended for challenge participants at CatScrap, or not…you can join in and discuss the challenge and related topics as well as ask questions in the CatScrap forums in the threads designated for altered art and art journalers specifically. We hope to hear from you, but if you are shy, we understand! But we would love to hear what you think of the challenge and the gifts! Leave us a comment at our blogs and at our FB pages…we really do enjoy hearing from you!
Above all, have fun! This is intended to be a no pressure enjoyable assignment…something that you can channel your inner artist while at the same time enjoying the state of flow that comes to all who create! :)
